If you’re using a domain registered through a third-party provider, like GoDaddy or Hover, they’re your domain host.
When you create a Squarespace site, you’re automatically assigned a built-in domain, like yoursite.squarespace.com.
All Squarespace Domains are hosted by our domain provider and host, Tucows.
How do I redirect a Squarespace site?
To create a URL redirect, you need four elements:
- The old URL for the page that doesn’t exist.
- The “arrow”, which is a dash immediately followed by a greater than sign (->).
- The new URL for the page you want to redirect to.
- The redirect type (301 or 302).
Can a Squarespace website be hosted elsewhere?
All Squarespace plans include hosting for your site and its content in addition to unlimited bandwidth and storage. If you own a domain from a third-party provider, you can transfer it to Squarespace, or you can leave it registered and hosted with its provider and connect it to your Squarespace site.
Is squarespace a good web host?
Although not quite as easy to use as other website builders, Squarespace is a good product for smaller websites, online stores and blogs that need to look good. Support is a big plus – both the knowledge base as well as personal support.
Does squarespace host domains?
All Squarespace Domains are officially hosted by our registrar, Tucows, and managed through your Squarespace site. We’ve traditionally offered one free domain with the purchase of an annual Squarespace plan, and now anyone with a paid Squarespace site can register domains for $20 to $70 per year each.
